Residential Program

We offer a residential program centrally located in Lima, OH for women who are on a journey of healing from past abuse or trauma and who desire to live purposeful, God-glorifying lives. The Transformational Living Program uses a holistic and trauma-informed approach that helps women establish a healthy support system, overcome obstacles, and rebuild their lives with God’s help.

All people will experience suffering in their lives. Many are resilient and have good support. However, women who have experienced a combination of difficult circumstances, and have done so without support, could benefit from the help of a Christian, sober-living community to grow in holistic wellbeing and move forward in life.

• Lacking stable housing and/or without family or community support
• Struggling financially
• History of childhood abuse, neglect, or household dysfunction
• Significant losses due to death, illness, accident, abandonment, betrayal, or legal action (incarceration, divorce, etc.)
• Sustained or repeated trauma (emotionally destructive relationships, domestic violence, spiritual abuse, trafficking, household substance abuse or mental illness, etc.)

The ideal house guest is the woman who is open to community living and is ready to invest in furthering her wellbeing within a supportive setting. Our program requires that a woman commits to a specified period of instruction and guidance, usually between 6 and 12 months. She must contribute to cultivating a safe and mutually encouraging environment and take steps to achieve financial stability (ex. working, budgeting, saving money). She also needs to be willing to fully participate in the transformation process that for Christians begins at conversion (Jn 3:3; 2 Cor 5:17) and continues with human effort (abiding in Christ, learning, goal setting, taking action) (Jn 15:4; Rom 12:2; Phil 2:12; Jas 1:22-25), combined with the grace (Holy Spirit power) that God supplies (Prv 16:9; Phil 2:13), as she walks out her faith by loving God and others while in community with fellow believers (peer support, mentorship, support groups, church involvement) (Matt 22:37-39; Heb 10:25; Jas 1:22).
